The beginning of education is literacy.
The fundamental need is that girls and boys in primary
schools and in their homes have access to quality books, which foster a
love of reading and a taste of what reading and learning can offer them.
Our mission is to provide Hoopoe Books to as many primary school children (ages 5 - 9 years) as we can, and step-by-step Teacher Lesson Plans
for teachers. We currently have 10 titles. Each of them is a traditional
teaching-stories from the region, retold especially for children by the
author and educator Idries Shah.
